This is how you do a jump shot in the dark. Just count 1, 2 and jump! Gamely jumping for me is my 3-year old niece, Nikka. She would jump, then will run to me to check out if I did catch her mid jump. We made more than 20 jumps I think.

But this is the only shot where I caught her mid-air. I think I need more practice! And I think I will ask my kids to do those jump shots while we are waiting for our latest movie download I found on this Torrents Search Engine.

Since practice makes perfect, expect more jump shot pictures here!

Eager For the New Year

I am thankful for the year 2009 and all the blessings that we have received this year. I am especially thankful for my family, the good health and the happiness that we have enjoyed all through out the year. I hope and pray that coming year will be another good one for us!

The picture above was taken at our house, sitting on our Italian leather sofa, ha ha (I really wish) after attending the mass on Christmas eve. If there is only one thing that I want for the coming year, it is for my family to enjoy the same happiness that we had this year. As a mother and a wife, I cannot wish for anything more!

I wish all of you a better New Year this 2010!

Bid and Be Dazzled!

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Bidazzled. All opinions are 100% mine.

I was hoping to find a used external hard drive for sale on the internet when I chanced upon Bidazzled. It was such a novel idea that I was indeed attracted to try it. In Bidazzled, you purchase bids in advance and use it to bid on an item that you want. For every bid made, a few cents are added to the price and time is added to give chance to others. Then, once the time expires and nobody else bids, you win the bidding. Bids cost as low as $1 and bid packs of $25 are also available. And you know the best thing about Bidazzled? This was established to fund a lung cancer charity, The Ruch Foundation. So you don't only get to win bids at almost 80% off of retail prices, but you also get to help fund a charity. Another great thing is you will receive 5 complimentary bids just for registering. You also receive as much as 50 bonus bids just for participating. So, do you believe me when I say that you will indeed be dazzled?

So if you are also hoping to bid online, try Bidazzled. They even have a great offer now: 15 complimentary bids just by using this code to register (BBP1202A). So I suggest you also try it now because they also offer a very generous referral program. So bye for now while I choose the item I want to bid on!

Mellow Yellow Monday

MellowYellowMondayBadge

The above picture was taken yesterday, where my son is part of the Yellow Team. This was supposed to be for the summer basketball league in our street, which was late for almost 9 months because the funds from the local government was delayed. Obviously, the coming elections helped in finally getting the budget for this. You can see that the kids are so excited so I can forgive the organizer of this event for not working harder on this project. It makes me think that they are not so serious after all! It reminds me of our project to upgrade our computer but just to visualize hard drive space is just such a chore! Hmm, maybe they have the same enthusiasm as I do, hence the delay.

Anyway, its better late than never! The kids had a lot of fun in their parade and are excited to start the games. Good thing that they have no classes due to the Christmas break!

Friday Quotes

It does not do to dwell on dreams and forget to live.

This was Professor Dumbledore's advise to Harry Potter when he saw his parents standing with on the mirror. It was to say that he cannot do anything about the past, but can certainly do a lot about the future. A wise man, that Dumbledore.

Unique and Cool Gift Ideas

Are you still looking for gifts for your techie friends? What about those artistic people on your list and for other people who you think already have everything? I recently discovered a unique and cool gift idea which is sure to be a hit among your friends: Yoostar. With Yoostar, your friends can make a movie of their own, by choosing from a wide-range of clips from well known movies of all time. They can choose to play Scarlet O'Hara on Gone With The Wind, or be the villain in Batman. Yoostar, they can also create their own movie clips if they want to make something more original. The Yoostar package comes with a web cam specially designed to take quality videos, a green screen and stand, remote control and software so you can just plug it into your computer. Aside from having fun creating and making the video, your friends and family will definitely enjoy watching their creation. They can also upload and share their videos at Yoostar.com or get the widget to share to other social networking sites. I would personally love to see myself as part of the Sesame Street crew and share the same on Yoostar. It will such a hit with my kids to see their mom with the gang on TV! This is indeed a cool and unique gift that is sure to be loved and appreciated by all!

Wednesday Happy Thoughts

Its Wednesday again and the day to count our blessings! And today, I am thankful for:

1. Lotsa lotsa goodies, thingies and stuff from friends and corporates as gifts. I really am blessed (and getting fat!) this year.

2. For my boss BJ for being truly generous to the maximum level!

3. For drivers , guards and messengers for helping us distribute
our Christmas goodies. The joy of giving is much more felt because of their assistance.

4. For 13th month pay!

5. The joy of shopping for the kid's exchange gift at school.

6. Christmas lunches and dinners with friends.

7. Ever supportive and generous husband who funded the Christmas shopping last weekend.

8. Sukang Iloko and Chicken inasal.

9. Sale, sale and more sale with amazingly big discounts (Loreal, Bobbie, etc)

10. And lastly, I am thankful for having some extra money to save for buying that second-hand car. We sold ours this year to fund a business and the construction of the dream house so we are saving to buy another. We want to buy a newer model so we wont have to experience the nightmare we had on our previous car's aircon. We at least want to buy one with better ac compressor and drive in comfort, especially during out-of town trips. So yes, I am controlling the shopping this year to save, but this is another blessing for the family.

This is my (late) entry again to Mellow Yellow Monday. I just happen to look at the window from our tall building, at the 42nd floor to be exact and chanced upon this marvelous sunset!

Of course, the sun set even before I could take a photo that would it justice. But I really love the way the yellow stood out amidst the gloomy metropolis.

Friday Quotes

"The journey is the reward."

This is one of my favorite quotes. It is a Chinese proverb and could never be more true. And just like in the song, life's a journey not a destination. So we should take care to enjoy the journey and stop worrying about tomorrow.

Dear Blog

Dear Blog,

Sorry for not having written anything new lately. Facebook has been eating most of my free time. I have to devote at least an hour each day to Farmville, Farmtown and Cafe World. And by the time I am done plowing, harvesting, cooking and visiting neighbors, I am bushed or just plain drained. Yeah, yeah I know. I cannot withdraw FV coins to my Paypal account but its really addicting. I really cannot bear to have my plants withered or my menu spoiled. I even arrange my schedule around their cooking time and harvest time. Anyway, I am sure this addiction will pass. Once I have no more blogging money to pay for the broadband bills, I will attend to you more. It's a promise!

But in the meantime, I have to go. My spaghetti and meatballs are now ready to be served and the horse wants his hair brushed or something! Bye now!

By the way, here is a picture as proof of how I work hard on my farm!

We thought that the yellow strips were cheese, but it turns out they were butter also! So the corn and carrots were swimming in butter!

7 Things In The News I Hate Today

Today was supposed to be a happy day, being the start of December and only 3 weeks to go before Christmas. But reading the news, I didn't read much good news and but rather found out 7 big irritating ones!

1. GMA will run. Enough has been said about this at Twitter #garapal so I don't think I need to add anything more. It is just so GARAPAL of her!

2. The ongoing investigation over the Ampatuan Massacre.

3. Jovito Palparan is running as well.

4. Jocjoc Bolante is running too!

5. The looming crisis in Dubai.

6. The never-ending sad story of Pinoy workers abroad.

7. Poverty.

These are just some of the sad news that are hounding our dear country. Who will save us from these clowns?!!

What Will You Do With Your 13th Month Pay?

13th month pay and Christmas bonuses are usually given at the end of November or on the 15th of December. This is the time when most employees are happily thinking of what to buy with their money. Some buy gadgets, gifts for loved ones and some invest their money. For some of us, this is the time to pay off loans we have collected in anticipation of this money. But in this time of financial crisis and recent calamities, what are your plans with your 13th month pay.

We already received part of our 13th month pay following the Ondoy calamity and used it to buy some things sorely needed in the house. So our 13th month pay and Christmas bonus will most likely be used to:
1. pay some of the principal amount in our Pag-ibig housing loan
2. pay in advance the kids monthly tuition fees
3. buy Christmas gifts, shoes or clothes for in-laws, inaanaks, kids and for ourselves (not gadgets!)
4. buy a sidecar for a tricycle
5. add the money to our lending business

Actually, we plan to pay in full our balance in the housing loan we currently have with Pag-ibig and hopefully take out another loan for a new house in a better location. So maybe all excess money after only necessary purchases will be used for this purpose.

I am really itching to move to a new house and start a new life. If I have one dream, this will be it! I am also eager to try the services of Moving Company Los Angeles and their hassle-free services. I am already thinking of calling Melrose Moving for a free moving quote at this 1-800-431-3920. I am sure they will let me know right away.

Need Help Moving?

I am packing for a two-day visit to my sister's house out of town and I already have two big bags. I really cannot pack light, no matter how hard I try. I am really not the world's best packer. My husband keeps on telling me that I should already practice for when we move houses. He is sure that the move would drive me crazy. But what I haven't told him yet is that I have already checked some Moving Companies Los Angeles for when we transfer to a new house. I just called their toll free number 1-800-431-3920 and they were kind enough to give me a quote, and some moving tips. So even if I am not an organized packer, moving will not be very difficult.

So if you need help moving in Los Angeles, just call their number for a free and fast quote for a hassle-free move! Now this is a secret that I am willing to share.

Maguindanao Massacre

I join the whole Maguindano, the whole Philippines and the whole world in its condemnation of the brutality of the killings that happened in Maguindanao. I feel strongly for the residents there who cannot speak out of fear for their lives and of their loved ones. I feel strongly for the journalists who were killed in the line of duty. This is close to my heart, as my younger sister is currently studying to become a journalist. I never knew that this career would be as fraught with danger, as proven in this massacre. Or maybe this is just in Ampatuan town, where the powers that be fear no one: Law, God or Man.

Let us all join hands and let the whole world know that we condemn this act of impunity. Let us not rest our pens and voices until the criminals are put to jail, and justice served.

Wednesday Happy Thoughts

I got this meme from doing the rounds of my daily blog readings and was inspired to do it here. Here is a list of ten things that makes me happy, today or at just about anytime.

Happiness is:
1. Danniel Noel's fun 7th birthday simple party yesterday.

2. his smile and genuine joy at the party
3. a supportive and tireless husband, Noel
4. a sweet daughter, Ishi
5. two loving sisters
6. best friends for life, who went to the party, even just for the pansit
7. a dependable son who took charge of the music (even if it was mostly Justin Bieber (or was it Jason Bieber?)
8. yellow balloons
9. cooperative weather (the rain stopped!)
10. kisses from kids before they were off to school.

These are the rewards of motherhood, marriage, friendship and family and I will be thankful for it everyday.

Mellow Yellow Monday

I love yellow and I love Mondays! My entry below was taken at Sonya's Garden in Tagaytay where we had our planning and team building activity over the weekend. The place is really such a wonderful garden and the food is just superb. It was very relaxing to be at Sonya's Garden.

This is the centerpiece on our table and it was really very beautiful. Our table was filled with vibrant yellow like these flowers, the fresh juice and the yellow, ripe mangoes of the garden salad. If you are in Tagaytay, you must visit Sonya's Garden!

I really love doing this Mellow Yellow Mondays because now, I am always on the look out for more yellow objects. And they do look nice.

Find Hotels in Germany

I have never been to Germany but would love to visit it someday. Can you imagine seeing the Berlin Wall and re-living its history and how it has now become a symbol of peace? I would also love to see the Cathedral of Cologne which is said to be the third tallest cathedral in the whole world. I think it would be awesome to worship there. And of course, if going to Germany one must not fail to visit the City of Weimar which is like the seat of literature, music and the arts. So I was checking some websites on where I can find the best hotels in Germany and I found Hotels weltweit buchen and Hotels Europa Spanien. These are two of the nicest and easy to use websites that I found on the Internet. They have hotel suggestions all over Europe as well. My only problem with these sites is that I can't find an English translation! Of course, there are translations everywhere in the Internet but it would be a lot helpful if I can choose to view the site in English so that I don't have to find translation elsewhere. But if you can read German or Deutsch, then this should not be a problem to you. Oh, and one more thing that I would love to do in Germany would be to check out those shops like Timberland Schuhe. Shopping is one thing that one must remember when going abroad!

The Dirt Devil Holiday Buying Guide: A Must Read

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Dirt Devil. All opinions are 100% mine.

The Christmas season is almost upon us. With only a month away from the most awaited holiday of the year, the pressure to get the perfect gift for our loved ones is already mounting. But with only a limited budget due to recent calamities and financial crisis, we must find ways to get creative in our gift-giving. And that is where the Dirt Devil Holiday Buying Guide becomes very useful. It gives great tips on how to save on online shopping. I was reading through the 300 tips on how to save on online shopping and am finding them very practical and really useful. There are also very practical gift ideas and suggestions, like His and Hers, or family gifts which of course gets you more discount. Even how to save on shipping options is an eye opener for me, and I was really surprised that you can save on it. So with I was really glad that I saw Holiday Deals DirtDevil.com and downloaded the Dirt Devil Buying Guide. Every online shopper must have one. This is really a must for your Christmas online shopping.

Krista and Manny?

My husband is the one who loves boxing. Me, I love Nanay Dionisia. But a news item this morning about Jinkee Pacquiao, crying during the thanksgiving mass for Manny's victory caught my attention. Of course, there are already rumors before about Pacquiao and other women, but this one being a news item, and not just showbiz gossip really caught my attention. In a video I saw at macuha's blog, Krista Ranillo was said to be seen with Manny leaving the Jimmy Kimmel Show. I can't really see Krista in the video so that's for you to decide. But during the Thanksgiving Mass in the video below (1:12), Jinkee was said to have cried when the priest said for husbands and wives to embrace, then she brushed off Manny and leaned on her friend on the other side. As a married woman, that body language says a lot! Is it true therefore that Krista and Manny are an item?

Here is the video:

Of course, the indefatiguable Mommy Dionisia was there to embrace and support her son when he was brushed of by his wife. Here is another video from GMA News:

For the latest Philippine news stories and videos, visit GMANews.TV

While I have only admiration for Pacquiao as a boxer, I only wish that this is just mindless gossip and part of mudslinging now that he has confirmed his plans to again run for Congressman. I also pray for Jinkee, and all other wives out there.

Taylor Swift Craze

My kids are going over crazy over Taylor Swift and her music. The current favorite in our house is "Picture to Burn" and they keep on playing it over and over my ears are starting to hurt. I guess I need to start to download music from other artists now that I am starting to hear Taylor everywhere! Good thing I found out about Queen Torrent and the simple interface it has for downloading torrents. I was pleased to discover that they have a much updated torrent files database and powerful search engine that came up with fast and good results. Now, I don't have to listen to Taylor Swift all day. Hmmm, maybe I should just download some new games for my kids ? I think I will.

Nine Good Things

I am letting go of the parts of my life that are dragging me down. Most especially, I am letting go of the hate. I vow that whenever I am about to think one bad thing about a person, I will think of the nine things that are good about him. It's not going to be easy I know, that it is better that carrying all that baggage.

I realized that my life should be about the things that make me happy. And hating just makes me a sad person. The intrigue just makes me a bad person. Instead of thinking of ways to get even whenever I receive a bad turn, I will just ignore it and hand it to the laws of karma. Better yet, I won't spend any of my energy on finding out the reason for it. I will just let it be and won't let it bother me. I will just try to think of nine good things about the person.

Good luck to me!

Do You Want A Ride?

I was doing my round of Adgitizing when I saw a picture of a bus, filled with people and remember a photo I took in Bohol last year. This was taken in Tagbilaran City, in front of Island City Mall.

Yes, it doesn't look safe, but it does look like a lot of fun! More so for the man laying on top of futon. He also has the best view. It doesn't matter that he has no safety gear whatsoever! And of course, these jeepney drivers drive like they are possessed so I don't know how he will survive, if God forbid, an accident occur!

New Robbery Method in Manila Malls

I received this forwarded email this morning and would like to share it to all of you. I am not sure if this is true because I have never heard of it in the news, but there is no harm in being more cautious. It is now 50 days before Christmas and we can expect to see a rise in crimes, especially in malls where most people are doing their early Christmas shopping. So read on and be warned of this new robbery method:

The Latest Scam:
Robbing Females using the restroom/ladies/bathroom inside shopping malls.

The way the scam works, a man slips into a women's rest room and sneaks into a unit. He waits until there is only one woman in the restroom in a neighboring unit/stall.

The criminal then stands on the toilet seat and points a hand gun into the next unit/stall, demanding the woman's valuables. After getting her cash and jewelry, he demands that she removes all of her clothing and kicks them out of the unit/stall. The thief tosses the clothing into a shopping bag, hangs an 'out of order sign' on the restroom door outside, and slips back into the mall. The 'out of order sign' ensures no one will soon come to the woman's rescue. It usually takes an hour or two for the woman to work up the nerve to leave the rest room in the nude, giving the criminal ample time to make his get away. The woman is left naked humiliated in a mall full of strangers.

The best defense, says police, is to never go into a shopping mall restroom alone, as only women who are by themselves are targeted. This has so far been a nearly perfect crime, as none of the perpetrators have been caught.

Don't let this happen to another woman.

PLEASE FORWARD THIS TO EVERYONE YOU KNOW.

How Do You Travel Through Life?

You Walk Through Life

Your journey through life is steady, conventional, and calm.

You're likely to stop and smell the roses every chance you get. Your life is simple but bountiful.

You believe that it's important to have good morals. You always do your duty, and work comes before play.

You value stability at home and at work. You do your part to smooth things over the best you can.

Wow, this is good to know. Life is a journey, as they say and I wouldn't want to rush things.

Five Finger Prayer

I got this as a forwarded email and would like to share to all of you. This is a very nice reminder and I hope we can make this prayer a part of our lives.

Five Finger Prayer

1. Your thumb is nearest you. So begin your prayers by praying for those closest to you. They are the easiest to remember. To pray for our loved ones is, as C. S. Lewis once said, a "sweet duty."

2. The next finger is the pointing finger. Pray for those who teach, instruct and heal. This includes teachers, doctors, and ministers. They need support and wisdom in pointing others in the right direction. Keep them in your prayers.

3. The next finger is the tallest finger. It reminds us of our leaders. Pray for the president no matter how you voted, leaders in business and industry, and administrators. These people shape our nation and guide public opinion. They need God's guidance.

4. The fourth finger is our ring finger. Surprising to many is the fact that this is our weakest finger, as any piano teacher will testify. It should remind us to pray for those who are weak, in trouble or in pain. They need your prayers day and night. You cannot pray too much for them.

5. And lastly comes our little finger - the smallest finger of all which is where we should place ourselves in relation to God and others. As the Bible says, "The least shall be the greatest among you." Your pinkie should remind you to pray for yourself. By the time you have prayed for the other four groups, your own needs will be put into proper perspective and you will be able to pray for yourself more effectively.

I hope that we never forget to pray for everybody who needs our prayers by using the Five Finger prayer guide.
